Kirby is a kind-hearted, steady-eddie trail gelding with a calm soul and a soft eye to match. Standing 15.1 hands tall, this handsome buckskin Gypsy Vanner cross is more “whoa” than “go,” making him the perfect partner for those who enjoy a relaxed ride and a horse that’s content to take in the scenery.
A seasoned trail companion, Kirby is the definition of dependable. He happily meanders down the trail without a fuss—surefooted and confident across logs, through thick brush, boggy spots, and water crossings. Nothing much rattles him, and he’ll go just about anywhere you point him, making him a go to mount for those that like to stop and smell the roses.
Though naturally introverted, Kirby bonds closely with his people and tries hard to please. He’s the kind of gelding who isn't going to drive you crazy looking for love and attention but sure enjoys it went you're ready to spend some time together. He loves having that long beautiful mane brushed and braided. He's easy to wash, saddle, bridle, and stands tied like a pro.
Kirby has also spent time around cattle and comfortably handles light ranch work. He’s been used to pen back cattle at the sale barn, gather pastures, open and close gates horseback, and help load trucks with feeder calves. He doesn’t get flustered in a working environment and brings the same cool-headed confidence to the job that he does out on the trail.
Kirby is also happy to go in the arena, displaying a soft jog trot, a lofty and floaty lope on either lead and good stop and back. He has a few tricks up his sleeve too. He'll side pass to the mounting block, trailer fender, or log for easy mounting or carry a flag.
