Tokyo is a wonderful, gentle soul, with great conformation, fancy blue roan coloring, and the prettiest black head. This guy is extremely versatile. He is experienced out on the trail, with things like steep hills, logs, dogs tagging along, and creeks. He will happily walk on a relaxed, loose rein alone, or in a group. No worries if you have to travel down the road a bit to get to the trail, he is fine with that too. In the arena, you can ride him in western tack, on a loose rein. He neck-reins, and moves off leg pressure very well. He has a lovely pivot in either direction, side-passes, and backs. He picks up either lead with ease, all it takes is a kiss and bump with your outside leg. He also has the slow, smooth jog that is a pleasure to sit and ride. He stands at nicely at mounting block while mounting, and walks off quietly after time-off.
Tokyo also has dressage training, if that is more your cup of tea. He would be ready to show training level, and is schooling first level. He is nice in the contact, leg yields, and is schooling the shoulder in. We have started to play around with walk to canter transitions.
Tokyo loads and trailers well, and rides well off-property in a new environment. He doesn't mind the ball or tarp. We had him over obstacles, and he is cool and confident. He can also be ridden bareback! If you want to put on a special show, he will lay down and sit up for you from the ground or in the saddle.
In the barn, he has a friendly, in your pocket personality. He will stand quietly in cross ties without complaint. He is safe to allow kids to help with the grooming, and is used to our dogs running underfoot. Tokyo leads politely, and respects your space. He bathes nicely, and is good for the vet. He will stand for the farrier in cross ties, and shoes very well. He has no history of lameness or illness, and sells 100% sound.
