CAN’T KICK JACK
2021 AQHA Gelding • 14.3 HH • “Jack”
Ranch Horse • Ranch Show Horse • Family Safe • Trail Horse • All-Around Gelding
There are plenty of horses advertised as “all-around geldings,” but Jack is one that has actually done the jobs to earn that description.
Can’t Kick Jack, affectionately known around the barn as Jack, is a gorgeous 2021 AQHA gelding standing approximately 14.3 hands. He is the kind that combines brains, ability, training, real ranch experience, and a kind disposition all in one package.
At only five years old, Jack already has an impressive résumé. He has been shown successfully in ranch horse classes, extensively ranched on, used to drag calves to the fire, doctored cattle in the pasture, trail ridden, exposed to traffic, and ridden by kids.
This is not a gelding that only knows the controlled environment of an arena. Jack has been there, done that, and knows what it means to go to work.
IN THE SHOW PEN
Jack has been successfully shown in ranch horse classes and has a beautiful foundation in the arena.
He travels quietly and correctly through his gaits, stays soft and willing in the bridle, and has plenty of feel without requiring his rider to constantly micromanage him.
He has a nice, correct stop and a pretty, cadenced turnaround that stays balanced and smooth. He is responsive without being overly sensitive and willingly goes where his rider puts him.
There are no gimmicks to riding Jack. He is simply broke, correct, willing, and honest.
Whether you want to continue showing him in the ranch classes or simply appreciate riding a horse that has buttons and a good handle, Jack is enjoyable to have underneath you.
A REAL RANCH HORSE
Jack’s experience doesn’t stop when he leaves the show pen.
He has been extensively ranched on and has experience doing the jobs a real using horse is expected to do.
He has:
• Dragged calves to the fire
• Doctored calves in the pasture
• Worked and handled cattle
• Been used for everyday ranch work
• Covered country and varied terrain
When cattle get moving and the situation gets busy, Jack keeps his head.
He handles cattle quietly and confidently and doesn’t become frazzled when things get fast or unpredictable. He understands how to go do a job and has the experience to back it up.
That combination of arena training and legitimate ranch experience is one of the things that makes this gelding so special.
OUTSIDE THE ARENA
If you’re looking for one you can simply saddle up and enjoy, Jack is just as comfortable outside as he is inside an arena.
He will confidently ride out alone or in a group and is traffic safe.
Point him down the trail and go.
He willingly crosses logs, travels through thick brush, handles varied terrain, and goes where he is asked without making an issue out of it.
Jack is not spooky and we have had no buck, rear, or bolt out of him.
He has also been ridden by kids, and his kind, forgiving disposition makes him the type of gelding that can fit into a family environment where more than one person wants to enjoy him.
THE KIND EVERYONE WANTS IN THE BARN
Jack is just as enjoyable on the ground as he is underneath saddle.
He will:
• Stand quietly tied
• Stand for the farrier
• Stand to be bathed
• Stand to mount
• Clip
• Load and haul
• Saddle quietly
• Handle easily around the barn and other horses
He has no cribbing, weaving, or stall vices.
Jack is the type you enjoy walking into the barn to see. He has a kind disposition, understands his manners, and doesn’t need a complicated routine to get along with him.
SOUND & READY TO GO
Jack is represented as 100% sound, and recent X-rays are available for buyers to review for additional confidence.
He has been well cared for, properly maintained, and kept in consistent work.
We encourage prospective buyers to review his videos, ask questions, and come meet and ride him prior to bidding.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Good geldings are easy to advertise.
Truly versatile geldings are much harder to make.
Jack has already proven that he can walk into a show pen and perform, go home and do legitimate ranch work, spend the day handling cattle, or head down the trail and simply be enjoyable to ride.
At only five years old, he has the experience of a much older horse with his best years still ahead of him.
If you’re searching for something that can be competitive enough for the ranch horse pen, useful enough for the ranch, dependable enough for the trail, and gentle enough to be enjoyed by the family, take a serious look at Jack.
He’s handy at 14.3 hands, stout enough to handle a day’s work, athletic enough to continue advancing in the performance pen, and sensible enough to simply saddle up and enjoy.
Show him. Ranch on him. Trail ride him. Put the family on him. Or do a little bit of everything.
Jack doesn’t need one specific job to make him useful.
He already has several.
