Mayo is 6 year old striking 14.2-hand cremello tobiano gelding with the kind of personality that makes him impossible not to love. He is incredibly gentle, kind, and honest, with a heart as good as his looks. Mayo absolutely adores attention, especially from kids and soaks up every bit of love he can get.
Whistle for him and he’ll come running to put his head right in the halter. He is easy to catch, leads quietly, loads with no fuss, ties patiently, bathes well, and stands like a gentleman for the farrier. He is uncomplicated and a pleasure to be around on the ground.
Under saddle, Mayo is a confident and willing partner. While he has been ridden by kids and is always gentle and respectful, he is best suited for an intermediate rider as he has a lot of buttons and is very soft in the face. He responds well to his rider, stays honest, and is enjoyable to ride for someone who appreciates a responsive horse.
Mayo is a phenomenal trail horse and will cross absolutely anything you point him at steep ditches, logs, water, and rough terrain always taking care of his rider. He has been used outside to push and pen cattle, has been started on tracking the dummy, and shows a great mind for working outside.
He is also a versatile gelding with experience beyond the trail. Mayo has dabbled into jumping and has had some reining training in the past, making him a well rounded horse that’s happy to try whatever job you give him.
