If you’ve been searching for that gorgeous dapple gray gelding who’s broke, experienced, user-friendly AND easy on the eyes…you may have just found your Silver Bullet. 😉
SSS Silver Bullet, or simply “Silver Bullet” around our barn, is a 2019 AQHA dapple gray gelding standing 15 hands tall. He’s that beautiful, heavily dappled gray color everyone seems to be looking for, and trust me—he gets noticed wherever he goes.
Thankfully, he’s got a whole lot more going for him than just being pretty!
Silver Bullet is the definition of a been-there, done-that, let’s-get-the-job-done kind of gelding. He’s spent time on the ranch moving cattle from pasture to pasture, has plenty of arena riding under his belt, and has put in the trail miles too. He’s versatile, experienced, and genuinely enjoyable to ride.
In the arena, Silver Bullet has a really nice handle. He’s soft in the bridle, carries a beautiful headset, moves willingly off leg pressure, has a nice turnaround, a BIG stop, and an easy one-hand neck rein. He’s responsive without making you feel like you need an instruction manual to operate him.
Basically, he has the fancy buttons without making you nervous about accidentally pushing one. 😂
That’s one of my favorite things about Silver Bullet—he’s incredibly user-friendly. A beginner can appreciate how quiet and uncomplicated he is, while an experienced rider can climb aboard and appreciate just how nicely broke he really is.
Take him outside the arena and he’s every bit as enjoyable.
Silver Bullet is levelheaded, relaxed, and confident on the trails. He’ll head out alone or ride comfortably in a group and doesn’t care whether he’s leading the way or hanging out somewhere in the middle. He’s not looking for reasons to get worked up about things. He’s simply cool, calm, and collected and ready to enjoy the ride.
Whether you’re wanting a horse to use around the ranch, enjoy in the arena, haul down the trail, or simply have one really nice gelding that multiple members of the family can enjoy, Silver Bullet checks an awful lot of boxes.
On the ground, he’s just as uncomplicated. Silver Bullet has excellent ground manners, is easy to catch, gets along well with other horses in the pasture, loads and hauls nicely, and settles comfortably into a stall. He’s good for both the veterinarian and farrier and is an all-around gentleman to have in the barn.
Silver Bullet comes with a current veterinary health examination, current Coggins, and a fresh set of shoes. He’s ready to load up and head straight into his next adventure.
There are plenty of pretty gray horses out there.
Finding one that’s pretty, broke, experienced, gentle AND user-friendly is where the search gets a little harder.
