Prior to import, he consistently scored in the upper 60s to 70s at 3rd Level Dressage, with three points in Z1, under numerous licensed judges across the Netherlands.
Versatility is one of Dante’s strongest assets! He is a proven dressage competitor with years of show and clinic experience both in the United States and Europe! Dante is broke to drive and has given his fair share of vaulting lessons! Dante LOVES to hit the trails - and trail rides like a dream with his quiet, confident, and unflappable brain. He is patient and forgiving for beginners, and has packed around kids + adults alike. Dante has proven to be the go-to horse for guests/family that come into town that want to have an out of this world riding experience on a beautiful Friesian!
Since arriving in the U.S., Dante has served as the perfect first dressage horse for his owner. He has been used in a lesson program on the side, and was leased out to an amateur riding who took lessons to strengthen her dressage skills. Together they’ve enjoyed clinics, garnered compliments on his quality of movement and forgiving nature, and built an unshakable bond. He’s currently schooling 2nd level with a solid foundation to step right back into 3rd level work.
Now, as his owner shifts her focus back to her reining roots, she’s ready to let Dante bring his magic to a new family. We’ve hauled him into busy downtown environments where he navigated heavy traffic without batting an eye. Cars weaving around him? No problem. He handles every new situation with composure and grace.
Dante is the kind of horse you can load up, haul out, tack up by the trailer, and go — no lunging needed, no prep work, and absolutely no drama. He’s been off property multiple times during his time with us, and he’s impressed us every single ride.
With his extensive dressage foundation, he would transition beautifully into Western Dressage, combining his soft, responsive mouth with the calm, collected brain of a seasoned show partner. He’s not hot, reactive, or nervous — he gives only what you ask for, no more, no less. His “whoa” is immediate and reliable, and he’s been ridden in both a simple snaffle and a western correction bit.
His ground manners are just as impeccable as his under-saddle work: he is easy to load, tie, and haul. Excellent for the farrier and vet. Stands quietly to be groomed, saddled, bathed. He is tidy in a stall (we love a corner pooper!), enjoys his turn out time and walks right up to you to shove his face in the halter. He has a lover boy puppy dog like personality – and is always on his best behavior. Best of all? Dante has zero vices. No buck, rear, spook, bite, crib, weave, kick, or any other nonsense. He’s truly a “what you see is what you get” kind of guy — no tricks up his sleeve, just an honest, kind soul looking for his next person.
