Spotted Haflinger Trail Driving Jumping Safe Mare

Meet Chicaro she is defiantly a favorite ride every time and anyone that has ridden her wants to ride her again. It’s because of her personality, her willingness, her smooth gaits, and she’s such a nice handy size. And of course don’t forget she’s easy on the eyes.

Chicaro is a 3 yr old Spotted Haflinger Cross she has a little bit of paint a little bit of Haflinger and a little bit of some draft in her to make the perfect nice stocky drafty type horse that is not gigantic and everyone can enjoy. She’s stout enough to carry a bigger rider, but she’s not huge so you don’t need a ladder to get on. She stands at 14.3 hands currently but still growing. We expect her to finish out at least 15 hands tall more than likely 15.2 hands tall. Her butt is a couple of inches higher than her withers right now.

She’s a one owner mare so no unknowns with her you get her full story. She was started out the right way and as you can see from her video she took to everything and surpassed expectations. She really is something special.

Ok here’s her story she was started under harness last spring as a 2 yr old and had a couple of months harness training. She is not finished out that way, but has a good start if someone wants to finish her out for pulling a cart.

Then she was broke out to ride and did so well and was very willing to please so she started on the lay down cue and as you can see she lays down pretty easy you just pick up her left front foot bring it back and she’ll do the rest. So if you do need her shorter to get on you can easily have her lay down for you.

She knows how to move off of the leg shoulders, hindquarters, and started doing a nice side pass. She stops off your seat and she’s more whoa than go. She’s a little side by side out on the trails you can literally take her anywhere just point and go and she does. Not only that but she comes included with four wheel drive. But seriously she will go anywhere you ask she has a lot of confidence and a lot of sense.

She will cross any water creeks, rivers, etc. And she’ll walk over any log or she’ll jump it for you if you want. She did so well jumping logs out on the trail that we decided let’s try her in the arena with some jumps and English tack and she did amazing. She is a natural jumper and sets herself up easily. She doesn’t mind being ridden in English tack at all.

I really could see her excelling with someone in 4H or fun shows she doesn’t mind arena work and has a natural nice little quarter horse lope and an easy jog trot to sit to. She has the buttons and is ready to take it a step further if someone wants to go in that direction with her.

She does NOT spook easily. She does NOT care about traffic a bit. She has great ground manners stands good for mounting, tacking, and picking out her feet. She’s also good for the vet. She’s an easy keeper NO bad habits and NO maintenance.

She can ride out alone or with another horse either front or back. She loads right in the trailer and backs right out. Stands tied quietly. She’s pretty easy to get along with. She’s very level headed and sensible. She is smart and seems to learn quick and pick up on new things easily.

So to round things up she lays down to mount, started on jumps, started under harness, and she’s a handy trail machine. She’s this good at this age just imagine what she’ll be like in a couple more years and done growing. It’s hard to find these special ones like her this size and this handy. She’s an awesome trail horse and I could easily see her as someone’s fun playday horse at the fun shows and doing some jumps she would easily excel at anything you put her into.
