If you're looking for a horse that truly wants to be your partner, Penny is the definition of an in-your-pocket mare. With the personality of a puppy, she lives for scratches, treats, and spending time with her people. She'll happily follow you around the pasture for hours just for a little attention. Penny has absolutely no mare-ish tendencies and integrates well in a co-ed herd. Curious, willing, and incredibly people-oriented, she is an absolute joy to have around.

Penny is exceptionally motivated and has developed a strong foundation through  a significant groundwork and riding training program. She is responsive, respectful, and genuinely enjoys learning.

Started under saddle in June 2025, Penny currently rides comfortably in either a hackamore or snaffle. She has a nice turn on the haunches and turn on the forehand and is actively developing a consistent sidepass. She is very supple through her head, neck, and body, with a strong stop and backup. Penny is also progressing nicely with vertical flexion and collection at all three gaits.

She loads and unloads willingly with minimal effort and has been exposed to a wide variety of situations, including:

✔ Traffic
✔ Trail riding
✔ Active water crossings
✔ Rugged terrain
✔ 10+ mile days


Penny is a naturally athletic mare who particularly shines in flatwork ranch-style and trail disciplines. Her willingness and body control make her an exciting prospect for someone looking to continue developing a versatile partner.

One of Penny's highlights last year was helping represent the U.S. Wild Horse and Burro Association at Equine Affaire, where she handled four days of constant activity and sensory overload like an absolute professional. Golf carts flying by, dogs, children, plastic bags, loud crowds, breed demonstrations, stalling, and countless horses never fazed her. She took it all in stride and proved herself to be level-headed and dependable in a busy environment.

Penny's education will continue to progress until she finds her perfect home. She is a kind, affectionate, and highly trainable mare with all the ingredients to become someone's exceptional partner.
