Carthinos Balou II Dieses ausgesprochen noble und agile Hengstfohlen mit einem unwahrscheinlichen Drang zur Bewegung und Aktivität – immer mit dem Einsatz des ganzen Körpers – steht ganz im Zeichen seines Vaters Carthino Z. Der wohl letzte aktiv deckende Carthago-Sohn ist das Produkt einer so erfolgreichen Mutterlinie mit Holsteiner Wurzeln. Dakina (Amor x Herrscher x Nimmerdor) brachte drei gekörte Söhne und neun Pferde mit Erfolgen auf 1,40–1,60 m-Niveau hervor – darunter Carthino, der unter dem Besitzersohn Gerben Morsink nicht nur Sieger unzähliger Großer Preise war, sondern auch die Weltmeisterschaften der jungen Pferde mit dem 3. Platz abschloss und im Sires of the World glänzen konnte. Carthino selbst hat eine außergewöhnliche züchterische Leistung vollbracht. Auf ca.450 eingetragene Fohlen sind 25 % über 1,40 m und besser erfolgreich (Horsetelex). Darunter sind eine Fischersolution unter Michael Jung über 1,60m oder auch Carino B unter Melanie Freimüller (SUI) ebenfalls bis 1,60m. Carthino selber ging bis ins hohe Alter auf höchstem Niveau und war bei seiner Besitzerfamilie lange Jahre im Zuchteinsatz. Und noch heute macht er ein Bild von einem Hengst, wie es nur wenige Pferde in diesem Alter vorweisen können. Die Mutter Borta ist die überaus im Charme ihres Großvaters stehende Tochter des Baloubrie. Interessant an der Linie ist die Inzuchtkomponente auf den großen Kolibri. Borta selbst ging aufgrund einer Verletzung nur kurzzeitig im Sport, wusste aber mit ihrem auffälligen Springen und viel Vermögen zu überzeugen. Ein Halbbruder von Quintender ist mittlerweile bereits S-erfolgreich, und auch aus der zweiten Mutter Lebsana geht der Sohn des Kolibri, Kondor SE, über 1,50 m. Weitere Nachkommen aus diesem Stamm beweisen sich in Springen über 1,30 m. Wenn die einzigartige Genetik des Carthago auf einen der bedeutendsten Hengste Europas, Kolibri, trifft, entsteht hier Potenzial für die weitere Zucht – aufbauend auf den Linien unserer Väter.
